The reappointed Chairman of Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, Ms Olivia Olubukunola Onabanjo alongside her Commissioners officially resumed duty on Monday, 19th May, 2025.
Speaking at a reception held to welcome the newly reappointed Commission members, Onabanjo thanked the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun CON. for the trust he has in reappointing her and the Commissioners for the second term.
Ms. Obabanjo also applauded the Governor for the appointment of Hon. Afeez Olatunde Osunbiyi as a new commissioner in the Local Government Service Commission.
She vowed not to disappoint the Government and the good people of the State in the task given to her and other members of the Commission.
While specifically appreciating the Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Engr Olanike Ogunbona FNSE for holding fort before their reappointment by the Governor, Ms. Onabanjo said "when we were leaving, we didn’t know that we were coming back, everything went smoothly the first time and I believe it will end well during our second tenure in office".
She went further, “I have a lot of confidence in the Permanent Secretary and her team for the completed "year 2023/2024 promotion exercise" for staffers of the Local Governments and there was no trace of any conflict in all the various local governments in the State".
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary, while welcoming the Chairman to the Commission, thanked Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, Governor of Ogun State for the re-appointment of the Chairman, Ms. Olivia Olubukunola Onabanjo as the Chairman of the Ogun Local Government Service Commission, saying that one good term, truly deserves another.
She also thanked the Governor for the privilege to hold forth at the Commission from November, 2024 while appreciating the Directors and members of staff of the Commission for their cooperation and support.
Engr Olanike Ogunbona congratulated other members of the Commission on their re-appointment as Full Time Commissioners of the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission.
Prayer sessions were held by Ven. (Dr.) Dele Alonge, Vicar-in-Charge, St. Michael's Church, Obantoko, Abeokuta and Alhaji Odunbaku, N.O., Chief Imam of the Federal Housing Estate, Central Mosque, Elega Abeokuta.
Other members of the Commission are: Hon. Olufemi Lukman Adiro, Full Time Commissioner 1, Otunba Koye Martins Ijaduoye, Full Time Commissioner II, Hon. Azeez Olatunde Osunbiyi, Full Time Commissioner III and Balogun Rasaq Olatunde Rufai, Full time Commissioner IV.
