Elon Musk has vehemently denied allegations of extensive ketamine use, calling the New York Times report "false" and "sensationalized." The report claimed Musk used ketamine frequently, sometimes daily, and developed bladder problems, while also alleging he took ecstasy and psychedelic mushrooms.
Musk responded on his platform X, stating, "To be clear, I am NOT taking drugs! The New York Times was lying their ass off." He acknowledged trying prescription ketamine "a few years ago" for mental health reasons but emphasized he hasn't taken it since then.
The report cited private messages and interviews with over a dozen individuals familiar with Musk's behavior. Musk's denial comes amid his recent departure from his role as director of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), an entity created under Trump's administration to slash federal spending.

Musk appeared with a noticeable black eye at a farewell press conference with President Donald Trump, attributing the injury to play-fighting with his young son, X Æ A-12. Trump, when asked about Musk's alleged drug use, replied, "I wasn't," adding, "I think Elon is a fantastic guy".
Musk has previously spoken about using ketamine to treat depressive moods, arguing that controlled drug use has enhanced his creativity and work performance. The controversy has sparked intense debate, with many questioning the allegations and others expressing concern about the potential implications.
