A devastating accident has occurred on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, claiming the lives of three people and leaving six others injured. The incident happened around 7:45 am today , Wednesday, 28th May, 2025 near the Sango-Ota tollgate, involving a speeding cement truck with faulty brakes that rammed into four other vehicles.
According to eyewitnesses and officials, the truck, which had no registration number, was heading towards the tollgate from Sango-Ota at high speed when its brakes failed, causing it to lose control and plough into other vehicles.

The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) confirmed the incident, with Area Commander Adekunle Ajibade stating that the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at Ifo General Hospital, where the injured are receiving treatment.
TRACE has advised motorists to ensure their vehicles are roadworthy before setting out and warned against excessive speeding and reckless driving to avoid needless loss of lives. The agency has also cleared the vehicles from the expressway to restore normal traffic flow in the area.
