Yewa South local Government has bids a final farewell to its Leader of the legislative council Hon. Olayinka Oluwaseun Adekanbi, who passed on to glory on Saturday, 4th May 2025
The local government held a special lying in state session for him on the 5th May at the local government secretariat in Ilaro inside the Council's Legislative Chamber
The deputy Leader, Hon. Rev. Adeleye, presided over proceedings, while the acting clerk of the house, Mr. Sanni Abiola, ordered the protocols for the attendees to pay their final respects.
The Chairman of the local government, Hon. Abraham Babatunde Ogunsola, who graced the occasion with the executive arm, described the late leader as a man of honour loved by all without any exceptions.
He said "the late leader, in a shot while working with him, exemplified great leadership unrivaled by anyone in this our administration. He served thoroughly in total cooperation with the executives.
He made of himself a role model worthy of emulation at the local government secretariat, most especially in the Legislative Council and was loved by all.
His sudden death remains a rude shock and we are all sad about it, but what can we do? 'God giveth and taketh'. We are all like fouls in the hands of the Almighty. We are at His mercy."
The late Oluwaseun Adekanbi was just 39 years at the time of his passing, leaving behind a wife and children. Prior to becoming a councilor and Leader of the house, he was the Manager of Julanky filling station in Owode area of the local government.
After the lying in state, His body was moved to his house in the Payi area of Ilaro where he was buried in the Christian, Celestial way.
Scores of dignitaries from all works of life converged on the late Leader's house to bid him farewell .
