In a dramatic turn of events, the 11 abducted Benue Links passengers and driver have regained their freedom. The passengers and driver were kidnapped one week ago at Eke Elegbencho, Okpokwu Local Government Council, Benue State.
The company, Benue Links Nigeria Limited, broke the news of the release in a statement by its Information Officer, Johnson Ehi, on Sunday. According to the statement, the passengers, who were initially 12 at the point of abduction, with two earlier rescued, had been held against their will by unidentified individuals but have now regained their freedom.
The company stated that all released persons appeared to be in good health. However, to ensure their complete well-being, they would undergo a medical examination, including counseling to help them cope with the trauma, before reuniting with their families.
The safe release of the passengers and driver has brought relief to their families and loved ones. The company expressed gratitude for the successful outcome, thanking all parties involved in securing their freedom.
