OGUNSOLA EMBARKS ON FAMILIARISATION TOUR OF THE BANKING COMMUNITY IN HIS LGA

By Yinka Adeboye

In a bid to bring all the stakeholders aboard his administration, the Executive Chairman of Yewa South local government, Hon Abraham Babatunde Ogunsola has embarked on a familiarization tour of the banking community in his local government area.

The journey so far has taken him to Zenith Bank Nigeria Plc, Wema Bank Nigeria Plc and Access Bank Nigeria Plc, all within the Owode axis of the local government area.

He expressed that it is his agenda to chart a part of mutual understanding which will lead to mutually-beneficial Public/Private Partnership (PPP), between the government and the private sector, for instant positive impact on the lives of the people at the base of food chain.

He said "once saddled with the responsibility to cater for the people at the base of the food chain, the grassroots, who get everything last in the economic pyramid, the onus falls on the local government to act swiftly to ensure that the national cake gets to these people as soon as possible.

All hands need be on deck. The government and the private sector must come to an understanding that the society needs us united now and we must do everything to achieve that, because in unity we stand, in diversity we fall."

He continued that the private sector could do so much more, in terms of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), for the people since the society has been good to them immensely by patronizing them.

He hinted that he will partner with the financial houses and any stakeholder in the private sector, on any feasible business, as long as it will engender rapid turn around of fortune for the poor and vulnerable at the grassroots level.

In his entourage were: The Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), Mr. Wole Fateru; Head, Information Education and Sports Department, Mrs. Caroline Onaade; and Clark of the House, Mrs. Adenike Idowu.
